Introduction to Web APIs March

Introduction to Web APIs 1st July 2024

About the course:

This course introduces the learner to Web ‘REST’ APIs and how they are used with Unit4 ERP to carry out a variety of data functions. We will learn the terminology, basic and practical uses, and the different options available.

The course is a prerequisite for the Extension kit and App Studio courses but is also great for anyone who wants to know how they work as they are a part of every web application and are becoming increasingly important for adding bespoke functionality to a cloud system.

Trainee Prerequisites – Knowledge:

As this course is aimed at the beginner, there is no mandatory prerequisite.
However, a knowledge of the following areas would be an advantage for the learner:

  • Unit4 ERP (Agresso / U4BW) navigation
  • Knowledge of Unit4 ERP modules and core concepts

What the trainees will receive:

Other than the hands-on training session itself, the trainees will receive:

  • A certificate of completion

Course Summary:

The course is led by an experienced Arribatec Training Centre (ATC) trainer, using the dedicated ATC training environment. The learners are given temporary access to the environment during the course.

We start by looking at the use of Web APIs in a non-Unit4 web application (such as Spotify or YouTube) and then move on to Unit4 system functions such as pulling supplier information from the system and posting journals.

We will use free applications such as SOAPUI and POSTMAN to access the system and run the API functions.
