A chat with Jacelyn Tay, Senior Consultant at Arribatec APAC
We embrace diversity in many different ways. Equality is something that is very close to our hearts, and we work hard to break the bias in the technology industry.
This year’s International Women’s Day focus and theme for 2022 is “Break the bias”. There are different missions during the year, but one that resonates with us is “to raise and promote equality in technology and celebrate the women who create innovation”.
We have taken the opportunity to run a round of questions and answers with some of the women who work in our company and this round it is time for Jacelyn Tay, a senior consultant based in Malaysia who is part of our Business Services department in Asia Pacific.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do at Arribatec?
I began my career at Accounting Services Professional with more than ten years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility and duties.
Subsequently, I have made a decision to change my positioning and move forward as a software consultant by combining strong analytical skills in delivering ERP systems to meet customer requirements and needs. I am currently a senior consultant at Arribatec.
My job responsibilities consist of providing consulting services to the customer, which includes understanding the customer’s process and configuring applications, producing configuration documents and user manuals, performing integrated system testing and deliverables, and assisting with post-implementation support and troubleshooting.
What makes you enjoy coming to work at Arribatec every day?
The nature of the job is challenging but exciting for me.
How would you say your career has been affected by working at Arribatec?
In Arribatec, there are many senior and experienced colleagues. When faced with difficulties, they will guide me. I can learn valuable experiences from them, which will help me improve my career.
Can you name something that Arribatec is doing to break the skewed distribution?
Arribatec is a global service provider. Although we may live in different countries and have different accents in Arribatec, there is no prejudice against us based on various accents.
What is your message on International Women’s Day?
Be brave when you do the right thing!
