Brunel University London ^
The Challenge:
Brunel University London had a unique challenge to overcome in 2022; their unusual setup encompassed a research, cost, and pricing (RCP) system that was on-premise, which has been implemented back in 2016, and a cloud-based Business World ERP that was implemented in 2018.
The original solution used webservices that attempted to integrate the on-premise RCP system into the cloud-based ERP system, however this did not work as expected and led to a degradation of their system over time.
The Solution:
The Arribatec consultants completed a thorough evaluation of the existing systems and mapped out a phased approach in delivering the 4 essential components. These were the re-implementation of RCP within the existing UBW cloud-based environment, an interface from RCP to PCB to allow for auto-setup of awarded grants, an automated extract of the financial data from RCP to the Planner Postback, and a mechanism to allow the required HR data to be extracted and transformed into the necessary format, fit for import to RCP.
In August 2022, after 6 months work, Brunel went live with Unit4 ERP Research, Costing & Pricing on their cloud environment. This brought the two separate systems together into one. Arribatec worked closely with the in-house team at Brunel to ensure that the implementation went smoothly and quickly, with go-live causing no downtime to their system.
In the months following the re-implementation, Brunel have also entered into a Managed Services contract for the year, helping with their reporting and data extraction, and to ensure total support and further development for the upcoming months.
